Digital Nomad
Digital nomads are people who live in a nomadic way while working remotely using technology and the internet. Such people generally have minimal material possessions and work remotely in temporary housing, hotels, cafes, public libraries, co-working spaces or recreational vehicles, using Wi-Fi, smartphones or mobile hotspots to access the Internet.
Nomad is a concept for a UX design that would take place in a car. The project was created as a recreational collaboration project in my fifth semester.

Since many users still rely on their phones in the car, my main goal was to create a simple but inviting user interface that instilled a sense of confidence.
With both the automotive industry and many standards related to UX changing rapidly, it was an interesting and personally beneficial digression to imagine the uncertain but not-so-distant future of both fields.

Cars are the main means of transportation for a large part of society, so the user is dependent on having some form of confidence in the vehicle. The bright and upbeat color palette is designed to spread good vibes and inspire confidence in the car to start the journey with an upbeat state of mind.
Collaboration
Digital Nomad is a collaboration with the Transportation Design department at Pforzheim University. Many of the design decisions were made and revised together to create a fitting and appealing product. The main visual inspiration was round but sharp surfaces and transparency as a nod to the self-imposed task.

To appeal to the target audience of digital nomads who use the vehicle as a kind of smart device and workplace, I developed simple, calming tasks that the users can participate in, to stay relaxed, focused and positive during their journey.
